Protecting Today... Preserving Tomorrow

Help save 5,800 wild acres of forest habitat in the central Pennsylvania Wilds from being turned into the largest dump east of the Mississippi. Let the people in power know this area, noted for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities, is not compatible with a landfill-incinerator-industrial park complex!

In celebration of Earth Day 2008, Pam Steckler presents PPC volunteer, Nina Sargeant, with a check for $500.

Pam Steckler of Sunshine Imports (Beaver Avenue, State College) keeps a special jar in her shop to collect donations to help "Stop the Landfill." For the past three years Pam generously matched the funds collected and donated the money to People Protecting Communities, the local grassroots organization fighting the landfill targeted for the wilderness area at the western edge of Centre County.
