Protecting Today... Preserving Tomorrow

Help save 5,800 wild acres of forest habitat in the central Pennsylvania Wilds from being turned into the largest dump east of the Mississippi. Let the people in power know this area, noted for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities, is not compatible with a landfill-incinerator-industrial park complex!

A Rare Glimpse at RRLLC's First Draft

This map was distributed by RRLLC at the June 3, 2004, Public Meeting held in Snow Shoe Township. Only a dozen copies or so were distributed to the 500+ citizens that attended this meeting. This first draft included 2,300 acres of landfill footprint!

The township border on this map mysteriously moved north after Snow Shoe residents expressed strong opposition at that meeting (handwritten in pink dated June 7th). As far as we know, this issue involving "official" township lines has not been resolved.

The color key is as follows: landfill footprint (tan), industrial park (maroon), facility infrastructure (pink), buffer area (green). The rail yard, relocation of Peale/Gorton Road, and proposed interstate point-of-access are indicated in black.

A rare glimpse of RRLLC's original megadump plan presented at the June 3rd 2004 public meeting in Snow Shoe. Only about a dozen copies of RRLLC's proposal were distributed to the 450+ citizens that attended this meeting.
