Protecting Today... Preserving Tomorrow

Help save 5,800 wild acres of forest habitat in the central Pennsylvania Wilds from being turned into the largest dump east of the Mississippi. Let the people in power know this area, noted for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities, is not compatible with a landfill-incinerator-industrial park complex!

This page is dedicated to actual photographs taken in and around the proposed site, mostly from the Snow Shoe Rail-Trail and nearby areas that will be degraded by RRLLC's dump and industrial "vision."

Scenic Beauty

The Black Moshannon Creek, known as the "Black Mo" by locals, is not only scenic but also offers high quality wild trout fishing.

A day on the Rail-Trail

The Snow Shoe Rail-Trail is a historically rich outdoor attraction that runs on the former lines of the Beech Creek Railroad through Peale, PA. Nonmotorized and motorized users sharing the trail is a common sight.

The Peale Tunnel

The Peale Tunnel, built in 1884, for the Beech Creek Railroad is now part of the Snow Shoe Rail-Trail. If this dump is approved and the rail line is reactivated to transport trash, it will be lost. (Photo by Angel Ramsey)

The Viaduct Bridge

The Viaduct Bridge on the Snow Shoe Rail-Trail offers scenic views of the green mountains and Red Moshannon Creek.
