Protecting Today... Preserving Tomorrow

Help save 5,800 wild acres of forest habitat in the central Pennsylvania Wilds from being turned into the largest dump east of the Mississippi. Let the people in power know this area, noted for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities, is not compatible with a landfill-incinerator-industrial park complex!

Pictures from Peale, PA

The local historic landmarks known as the Peale Tunnel (top; circa. 1883) and Viaduct Bridge (bottom; circa. 1884), currently in service as part of a public Rail-Trail in the scenic Red Moshannon Creek valley, are endangered by RRLLC's proposed landfill-incinerator-industrial park project. One or both of these structures, recognized by many for their historic value and unique characteristics, may be lost to reactivation of the rail lines for trash trains. This dump will bury and destroy the remains of the Centre County side of Peale, Pennsylvania, including a large portion of the historically rich Snow Shoe Rail-Trails.
